Hello Harmonians,
It has been a while. I'm really sorry. Many things since we last posted on this blog. We lost twice. Not so many, right? But 6 points is a whole lot.
So we play FC Taraba today in a match that 'should' be the last of the 3-match ultimatum given to coach Tunde Abdulrahman. Yes, that "should" in the last sentence is in parentheses because of the report I got yesterday.
The club's secretary, Dele Oguntokun, said yesterday that the manager will NOT be sacked, he will only be sanctioned.
"We are not sacking our technical crew; they are continuing with us for now.
"The three-match ultimatum to the coaches to shape up or face sanctions will be treated as an internal matter.
"We have identified some of the issues hampering good results so far, we will make amendments as soon as possible," Oguntokun said to SuperSport.
That's kind of relieving considering the fact that the Harmony Boys played their hearts out for this man against Enyimba on Wednesday but we still lost 3-2 to the Aba Elephants. Some of the players cried literally after the match. Surprising to see the big man defender, Kabir Ayinde, shedding tears right before me. I felt like joining him but....
The team arrived Makurdi yesterday evening ahead of the Week 16 encounter against FC Taraba.
Word coming from the Aper Aku stadium this morning is that the boys are gingered up to face the Northerners. The spirit is high and they promised to up their performance.
FC Taraba have lost 4 of their last 5 matches and drew the remaining one. Laughable, right? But let's reserve the laughing till when we finish claiming our 3 points this evening.
It will be a great match and I expect the Harmony Warriors to come back home with the maximum points. It is a win today. I smell it!
