It's less than 36 hours to that very important match in Oghara. Perhaps, more important to coach Abdulrahman and his deputies right now. We really need to beat Bayelsa United on Sunday if they are to stand a big chance of keeping their jobs.
Here's the long and short story on the club management's demand from the coaching crew >>>Kwara United Give Abdulrahman & Others 3-Match Ultimatum.
Talking of 'keeping', all Kwara United fans are grateful coach Abdulrahman and his assistant got to keep their lives without sustaining an injury while on the trip yesterday after a car accident.
The incident took place in Elegbeka, before getting to Ifon town, Ondo state. The detailed information I got was that some motor touts were in pursuit of a car that came head-to-head with the car Abdulrahman was in, then the driver had sway and ran into a parked car by the road. It was that parked car that prevented a more fatal accident.
We really thank God nobody was injured. God doesn't forget his people, especially during this holy month of Ramadan.
The team left Ilorin yesterday morning without Shagari Ismail. Are you surprised? I saw that coming immediately after Obioma Arinze's equaliser during the Lobi Stars game. Suraj Ayeleso made the trip in his stead. He's match rusty, so I see Yekeen Kazeem starting against Bayelsa.
Suraj is not the only player on the bus that wasn't there last match. Nasiru Sanni and Abubakar Suleiman both made the trip too.
Gata Jr. is better now and training again but only the team nurse can ascertain is fitness. Hammed Jimoh has also started doing light work. Also heard that Gabriel Peter is back and Isiaka Oladuntoye will get jogging soon. The future is truly bright for the team then. 4 weeks tops, I think these players should be back on pitch.
The coach should definitely be fielding his best legs available in Oghara come Sunday. He must get 7 points out of a possible 9 and all 3 must be grabbed if Abdulrahman should stand a chance of remaining as coach of the Harmony Boys after returning from playing FC Taraba in the week 16.
