Kwara Utd Leading Scorer Alebiosu Loses Mother, Mrs. Eyitayo Alebiosu

Good morning Harmonians,

It's such a cool morning here in Ilorin but a very sad day as well for fans, players, admin and coaches of this great club.

Minna is where the Harmony Warriors are presently camped ahead of the Round of 32 Federation Cup tie against ABU Workers, Zaria.

Why the sadness? But they left Makurdi in high spirit? They should be good to go, especially to destroy a little team like ABU Workers (most people haven't even heard the name before and still wondering "Is it actually made up of the workers in Ahmadu Bello University?").

The news got into camp yesterday just minutes after the team bus arrived Minna. Our present highest goal scorer, Segun Alebiosu, received a phone call from his brother that their mum has given up the ghost. Very painful. The striker is devastated as it is now. I later got the information that she was seriously sick before then and it tormented him a lot. And he spent a lot to see his mum survive the illness. It's very sad.

This is life. We can never know when we will go.

For those who don't know, Segun is his mother's last born child and the bread winner. I can't imagine what he's going through presently. We can only support him with prayers and wish his deceased mother's soul rest in perfect peace.

She is also a Kwara United hero. She birthed the man that helped the club back into the top flight (Glo NPFL) with lots of goals. This is a season that is so vital in Alebiosu's career. He's the highest goal scorer in the 2nd season running for Kwara United.

The entire coaching crew and his teammates her presently consoling him. He has been granted leave to attend her burial. And he is on his way back to Ilorin presently.

Mrs. Eyitayo Alebiosu, R.I.P.

You will be missed by friends, family and colleagues. You were the pillar behind your boy that's obviously a star now.

She's survived by 4 children and a husband.

God bless you with heaven's pass..
