Kwara United Give Abdulrahman & Others 3-Match Ultimatum. Defining The 'Winnables'.

I got the information from Jide Oluwaseun yesterday and I was not surprised at all. Why? Unlike some fans, I think it's time we start demanding from our coaches. It's time we start seeing ourselves as a CAF Champions League winning club. Lots of people don't see this in Kwara United (It's a pity, really).

Okay, what information am I talking about sef? For those that don't know yet, Coach Tunde Abdulrahman and the rest of the coaching crew have been given a 3-match ultimatum by the Alhaji Haruna Maigidansanma-led management to grab 7 points in the next 3 matches or be shown the door.

Now, let's define this properly. There are 9 points available in 3 matches and the board needs 7 of those points (like we Harmonians don't). With the way the team played against Lobi Stars this is almost laughable (to be honest).

We'll start off with Bayelsa United at the Oghara Township stadium that has experienced no losses this season despite the fact that the Bayelsa boys are playing their home matches away from home in Delta state. They are second from bottom but they get very strong when they play at "home".

Hey, don't get me wrong. I'm NOT ruling out the possibility of we being the first club this season to beat Bayelsa United at home, I'm just saying that it'll be a hard task. Well, a little bit of thanks for the pressure exacted on the coaching crew now, they might just get the job done.

Next we play Enyimba in Ilorin.

*clears throat*

Besides the fact that the Aba Elephants are presently on a 6-match unbeaten streak, they know how to infuse fear in their opponents. But all dat one na wash jare!

But think again. Can we beat Enyimba FC right now? I know we have to play Bayelsa Utd first and build on what we get at Oghara but....

And the last match for Abdulrahman to prove himself (or he might have before the match) is against FC Taraba in Jalingo.

Wait a minute! Is it mere coincidence that the management chose to make this decision of 3-match ultimatum with 2 away matches in it? Meaning that we MUST win at least an away match (something we haven't done this season).

And it is interesting to know that both away matches are against teams that are below our standing on the log, while the home match against a team way above our current standing. But we should be able to do it. Can't we? After all, the GM said: "...there is fair officiating everywhere these days, so we must utilise that."

He's so on point with that statement, except I'm sure he wasn't referring to the Sani Abacha stadium (lol. But thank God DStv will be airing the next match taking place there).

I've come to a conclusion, however, that some things are not right somewhere. And this is Football Naija nah, things are always fishy. In the real and normal sense of 'worldwide football', it's only proper and very good for the management of a club to demand good results which the coaches must provide or they get sacked (after all, na wetin dem employ dem for be dat).

Let's, as Harmonians, just sit back, relax and just watch everything unfold before us. BUT DO NOT EVER FORGET TO SUPPORT THE TEAM NO MATTER WHAT IS HAPPENING.
Go to the stadium in your yellows and chant them to success (if you can make the trips for away matches too, God bless). I think these are the things we can do on our side to help.

Tunde Abdulrahman is a very good coach and I know I'm not the only one that needs him to stay.

Your feedback and comments will be much appreciated. Comment below or you can tweet at us at @HarmonyWarriors. Bye till tomorrow. Don't worry, we are still cooking up the injury report. You'll get it tomorrow..
