Samson Unuanel: I Didn't Re-Apply For Kwara United Job

Samson Unuanel has denied media reports stating that he re-applied for the vacant Kwara United job he held in the 2013/14 season.

The Afonja Warriors recently parted ways with the coach on mutual grounds, but the Edo Born tactician has stated he has expressed no interest as being reported in the local media.

“This is totally untrue because in this kind of situation I don’t think it is proper to re-apply for any job with Kwara United,” the former Ocean Boys coach told SL10.

On Tuesday 27th January, Tunde Sanni, Tunde Abdulrahman, Abdullahi Biffo, Ali Zubaru, Jimoh Balogun and Kareem Elemosho were all spotted at the Kwara State sports ministry trying to convince the top heirachy of the club on their eligibility for the vacant job.

It was reported that Unuanel was not allowed to take part in the interview - a report the coach has come out to rubbish.

“There are some people who are ready to destroy the name I have built for years. I'm presently on holidays at my home town in Benin City,” the coach explained.

“It is better for people to verify situations before reporting. I didn’t re-apply. I have not spoken to anybody from Kwara United.”

Coach Unuanel led Kwara United back to the Nigeria Professional Football League at the end of the 2013/14 Nigeria National League campaign.
