Akwa Utd v Kwara United: The Calabar Invaders

The Harmony Boys in the official bus before leaving Uyo for Calabar

The Harmony Boys arrived safely in Calabar about 2 hours ago. The Glo NPFL match against Akwa United is now to be played in the UJ Usuene stadium, Calabar due to the suspension of the Akwa Township stadium.

I think this is a little bit of advantage to us because most of their fans will not want to make the trip to Calabar from Uyo. But we can’t be banking on that though.

The performance of the team in the 3-1 win over Enugu Rangers during the weekend is something the team surely hoping to build on.

Adeshina Gata Jr. is still out injured. Evans Eyoro is still no where to be found, though the coach commented on his ‘surprise absence’ after the Rangers match saying that “he broke camp rules”. Those are his exact words by the way. Which rules? I’ll try to provide an answer to that later.

New boys, Amungwa Emmanuel and ‘Fade Adebayo were impressive on Sunday. They are with the team presently but a problem we all(Harmonians) have been having over the years is with the team rotation. We get that a lot. It doesn’t help when set of players have blended well together already. We really hope to start having an unchanged team that can play at least 3 weeks in a row.

4pm today we play Akwa United. Remember we beat Akwa Starlets in Enugu to advance to the round of 32 in the Fed Cup? We are hoping to do same to their seniors since it’s another neutral ground.

See y’all tomorrow with the match report..
