Our Nickname Is HARMONY WARRIORS! -Kwara United Management

The Harmony Boys

Well, I can't rub it in your face well enough. The name of the blog has ALWAYS been on point when it comes to the nickname of our darling club, Kwara United.

A change in the club's nickname was announced by the Jagaban himself (the General Manager, Alhaji Haruna Maigidansanma) on Friday, May 22, from "Afonja Warriors" to "HARMONY WARRIORS".

You might call it a change. I'll call it a confirmation of the name HARMONY WARRIORS. The players of the team will now (as since the beginning of the Glo NPFL season) be called HARMONY BOYS.

The General Manger said the name change is part of the rebranding going on at the club presently. It's only fitting. We've changed coaching crew, changed jersey and kit maker, brought some news players, and I guarantee many other things will change also.

According to the statement released by Alhaji Maigidansanma: “We will like to be known from now as 'Harmony Boys' as against 'Afonja Warriors'. Kwara United is not a small team and we must start to do things to prove this."

“Our state is state of harmony so it is right for the state-owned football team to be known as “Harmony Boys”, the statement said.

Meanwhile, we are presently on break and since it was mandated by the League Management Company that all government owned clubs go familiarize with their new and returning governors, we don familirize we sef tey tey with Sai Maigida nah.

So the team has 3 full weeks to prepare for what's coming next in the league and Fed Cup. And definitely sure, the rebranding will continue..
