Former head coach of Kwara United, Samson Unuanel, will be taking a
break a short from coaching to renew his engine, according to SL10.
Unuanel, who guided Kwara back to the Premier League in the just
concluded Nigeria National League season, will not be in charge of the
Harmony State club side after his contract was not renewed.
Top clubs in the apex league including FC Taraba and Elkanemi Warriors
have asked for the former Super Falcons assistant coach's services but
he has rejected their offers.
Unuanel's special assistant, Adeleke Kolapo said his boss' rejection of
the offers was due to his requirement for rest and refresh his coaching
prowess.
“Unuanel is always a big fish among coaches in the country, he's taking
a few days break from the sidelines to rest his body and brain after a
hectic season of guiding Kwara United back to the Premier League.”
“We have received offers from Taraba, Elkanemi and others but Unuanel
said he want to go on sabbatical at least till week nine of next season,
by then he will be ready with body and soul to listen to offers,” said
Kolapo.
Last season, Coach Unuanel achieved the mandate of returning Kwara
United back to the NPFL placing second on the log to Wikki Tourists.
Unuanel has managed clubs in the country including Prime FC, Niger Tornadoes, Enyimba International and Ocean Boys.
